Zaluzianskya

With delicate beauty and evening fragrance redolent of paradise ... Zaluzianskya!

Each flower so perfect, as if tenderly sculpted from the finest porcelain.

Tiny buds open as the evening sun bids farewell.

By the front door, its perfume offers a rapturous greeting and fills the heart with delight.

I first came across Zaluzianskya in a catalogue from Chiltern Seeds, who sell all kinds of unusual seeds.

Z. capensis was the first one I grew, with seeds from Chiltern Seeds. Used glasshouses to raise the seeds, so they came up well. With these Z. ovata I bought them as plants 3 years ago. They've flourished and survived three winters in containers on frosty doorstep!; 11 May 2009 at 14:22

Phoenix C. said...: Hi Anna! They flower through May and June, (if I remember to water!!). Sometimes I get a second flowering if I trim them back after the first have finished. The foliage looks pleasant, so when not in flower, I move the containers around so they act as foliage foil to other plants.; 12 May 2009 at 17:26
