John Marshall calls it a Restaurant with Rooms, and says in the brochure that it is really a reflection of his life.
*
I recently visited and had a wonderful evening of exquisite food and a tour of the amazing rooms.
*
John writes, 'The rooms are a journey of fantasy and adventure and reflect my feeling that people should give themselves permission to live their dreams, to think big and to be outrageous.'
I have posted photos of some of my favourite rooms. Above and below is the luxurious Edwardian Express room. The ingenious ensuite bathroom is in a constructed railway carriage!
Another sumptious room is the Cruella. Lavishly decorated with black velvet and diamante is has quite a Gothic feel.
For a complete contrast, the Russian Bride suite is light and airy, in tranquil whites and creams.
Taking up the entire top floor, it has a hand carved bed, and a beautiful sitting room area.
I like the serene views from the windows.
The next room I visited was a real surprise ...

I love the imaginative quality of this hotel, and admire John Marshall for creating it. I'm inspired by the statement he has written in his brochure, 'Be bold, be brave and give yourself permission to break free from convention.'

It is amazing how different those rooms are! It would be fun to try all of them. Cruella and Sci Fi look interesting and I love the white rose rug in the Russian Bride sitting room.
That is one cool hotel! Beautiful on the outside, and you'd never guess how neat it is inside. Thanks for sharing!
I think a lot of people do gradually try all the different rooms, Diane - and there are quite a few more rooms also!
I love that white rose rug too.
It is amazing that all those unusual rooms are in there, Catherine - as you say, you'd never guess from the outside!
I love the old architecture of the buildings. And I like the white room...but hey! I will def take the Dr. Who room!! :D

Thank you for the tour - it must rank as one of the most amazing hotel around. I'll make a note of it in case I visit that area again, but I doubt If can afford it :-(
An eclectic mix of rooms indeed.
Beautiful facades to the buildings by the way.

Ooh, fancy! I love the Doctor Who room... very creative! I was in love with Tom Baker as an adolescent...
I'm sure your friends will enjoy their stay if they visit the Fallen Angel, Galloping Gardener!
An amazing hotel, more people should feel free to create something different. Beautiful.

I'm sure it would be worth every penny, RuneE! The rates are actually very reasonable.
There is certainly a lot of amazing variety, Rob! In the rooms and all the different styles of architecture of the nearby buildings.
Glad you enjoyed the tour, Aiyana!
I'm still a Doctor Who fan, Monica! I like to watch the documentaries about the history of the programme too.
I totally agree, Jen! The place is a motivating inspiration as well as a wonderful hotel!
What a most interesting find. Each room is delectably unique. I think I'd stay in the Gothic room.
WOW!!! I love it!!! I love each and every room! I would love to stay there...in every room!
That is indeed a wonderful room, Prospero, and the ensuite is sumptious also.
Hope you get the opportunity to stay there, and in all of the rooms, Dirt Princess!
A hotel with a room for every person who has an adventurous side to them. Wonderful idea, and certain to have many return visitors.
It does, Barbara - I remember it was said on my tour that lots of people like to try different rooms each time they stay.
Beautiful shots!! Hotel is so fantastic!! Thanks for sharing..Unseen Rajasthan
Thank you Unseen Rajasthan, glad you like the hotel!
What a lot of imaginative work went into those quirky rooms. I don't know that I'd sleep at all in any of them - too much to see!
I love your July 5th bench of the week - truly elegant.
They are wonderful rooms, aren't they, Pondside! I'd want to savour every moment of staying there too!
Hi
All the rooms are distinct, unique, exquisitely furnished. Thanks for taking us through a virtual tour of the hotel. Hope to visit someday. Any idea why its named Fallen Angel ? Should rather be an Rising Angel !
Hi R. Ramakrishnan,
Hope you get the opportunity to visit - it is indeed an exquisite place!
I'm not sure about the name - maybe there is something on their website about it.
